How Can I Prepare for My Sugaring Appointment?
It's best to be well hydrated several days before and just prior to your first appointment. If your skin is dehydrated, it tends to hold onto the hair which can result in breakage rather than complete removal from the root.
BVI Sugaring requires that every client fill out our waiver form for consent before your first appointment.
How Long Does Sugaring Last?
On average one goes through three different hair growth cycles that are each approximately 10 days long so, we recommend booking an appointment every 4 weeks to maintain the best results and minimize pain when continuing with sugaring in the future. Please be aware that you may not be 100% smooth the very first time you sugar, because of the different hair growth cycles, your hair may grow back "patchy". The more consistent you are, the smoother you'll be. Sugaring regularly will cause the hair to grow back finer, thinner, and more sparse.
Does sugaring hurt? Can I reduce the pain?
Pain is relative to each client, however, here are some tips to minimize the pain. First of all, be consistent, make sure to book your appointments regularly to get the most out of your experience and achieve beautifully smooth skin. This results in a less painful sugaring experience. The second appointment is less painful than the first and gets easier each time you come in. We also suggest scheduling your first appointment right after your period. Your pain threshold is higher during that time, and you'll be more comfortable. Stop shaving! We like you to come see us about two weeks after your last shave because shaving can make the hair more resistant to sugaring.
How to take of my skin after the appointment?
After 24 hours, we advise gentle exfoliation, try our ingrown hair oil and scrub for optimal results. Exfoliation should not be pratcied daily, 3 times a week will ensure best results band the likelihood of various skin irritations may be greatly reduced. We offer a variety of products to help with this process. Please ask about what product is best for you.
